2009: the rewind

By David on January 1, 2010

So for any 2009 recap posts, I tried picking the highlights of my whole year. Trust me, I left out some probably awesome stuff because I just decided to post all this just today.

Getting sick of snow: I wrote a blog in mid-January talking about how much I loved snow… but come December, oh boy… times they are a changin’. I mean, two feet around winter break and the holidays almost wrecked everything. Being stuck in my house for almost two days straight wasn’t much fun either. I took five naps one day, and STILL slept all through that night… yeah, don’t ask me. And all that snow is still out there, haunting my work schedule and my car tires.

All I’ll say about Obama: Here it is. I haven’t been keeping up with the election anymore post-inauguration so all sides can just continue the arguing without me. But seriously, his inauguration was a sign of hope for me and the rest of the world. Regardless of what is happening now in politics, that moment was historic and you know it.

Twitter: Holy crap I fell in love with you Twitter. With some real life friends finally signing up, it seemed to be the place to be. But the reason I keep coming back for more are all the BTFs. Best twitter group around. Even met some of the crew like Sasha (twtr), Daniel (twtr), Andrew Carter (twtr), Leighanne (twtr), Philip (twtr), and Tiff (twtr) and probably more. @ me if I’m an idiot and forgot ya. Hopefully there are more new tweet ups, waffle inn hangouts, and movie showings with the coolest gang on the Internet in the year ahead.

XBL/909: Cycy and Shortie… This ones for you. Seriously, the idea of horrible classes of fall semester was made cancelled out by my bros Mike and Jason and our late night video gaming addiction. Oh the late night party chat conversations on Left 4 Dead, MW2, Castle Crashers, etc. From Skyping our new idea for the new year to playing some epic multiplayer I owe these dudes some coke couches. Maybe even six of their lucky. Okay, inside jokes aside… best dudes around. Bring on spring semester with your horrible classes so I can just play Xbox 360 instead. cheersftdub.

SPRING SEMESTER & fall semester: Spring semester, you were tough but I survived. Fall semester, you took over me and I didn’t even care. I think I am just going to go to college only in the spring. I met some awesome CS people, lived on campus, had my life together. Fall semester, I love video games more than school. Really, I love doing anything more than school. Dropped a class, stopped going to another. Passed other two classes tho. Just call me classy. Spring semester, about to be fucking owned.

New friends: Holy crap there’s a lot of them. I know I can’t give a shout out to all of them, but I have to give a shout out to my main homies Dexter and Ryan. Holy crap these are some fly dudes. These dudes are basically my extended family at this point. But other than them, there are tons of you guys out there and they are the coolest guys and gals. I haven’t got the space for names, but if I met you in the past year… you rule. Hands down.

Old friends: This year has been damn tough for me for those on the inside (and in the know) and I thank you for still sticking with me even though I haven’t been the greatest of friends to ya. From all the classic times, nothing will ever ruin it for me. From those sticking by my side and being there for me (one dude knows who he is.), thanks for it. For all the others, it’s time to cut some strings baby. It’s the new year, time to drop some dead weight. Sick reference, right?

I would add some classic tweets from my Twitter, but there’s a ton of them to look through. Here’s my timeline if ya wanna look back.

2010: Ya know what, I’m not even gonna call how it goes next year. Not making a single resolution, I am going to go with the flow. From the good to the bad, the time for it seems pretty perfect. I’ll probably look back on this post and just give myself props from doing this. The only thing I can predict is my 21st birthday in April.

Time to change it up 2010, you ready for it?
